Every Monday (Except May 24-June 4)

6 PM Crafty Creators - Come join us for Crafty Creators, an hour filled with creation and imagination! This program is best for ages 5 and up. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.  For more information: 621-1152, ext. 26.

6:30 PM Family Story Time - Family Story Time begins at 6:30 PM every Tuesday. Come and join us for a fun family story time that’s filled with stories, songs and rhymes.  This program is for the entire family. 10:30 AM Preschool Story Time - Preschool Story Time begins at 10:30 AM each Wednesday. Join Ms. Joy each week for stories, songs and rhymes! For ages 3-5 and their caregivers.  A craft will follow.  For more information:  621-1152, ext. 26.

9:30 AM Toddler Story Time - Toddler Story Time begins at 9:30 AM each Thursday. Join Ms. Rebecca for stories, songs, and rhymes. For ages 2-3 and their caregivers.  For more information:  621-1152, ext. 26.

 

10:30 AM Baby Play and Rhyme Time - Baby Play & Rhyme Time begins at 10:30 AM every Thursday.  Introduce your little one to the library with this special program.  Join Ms. Kathleen for books, rhymes, and songs.  For babies up to 2 years old and their caregivers.  For more information:  621-1152, ext. 26.

CONVERSATIONS FOR KIDS featuring author Christine Taylor-Butler will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 1, in the Friends of RPL Community Room.  Ms. Taylor-Butler has written over 25 books, including fiction, biographies, and non-fiction textbooks.  For more information:  621-1152, ext. 26.

4:00-4:45 PM – Miss J’s Journeys – Join Miss Jackie for this after school program which features a different activity each Thursday and includes a little bit of learning with a lot of fun. These activities are for students in grades 3-5. Registration is limited to 20 each week and is required for this program. Registration can be done on our web site or by calling 621-1152, ext. 26.

May 13

Thursday Night Bookies Book Club begins at 5:30 PM Thursday, May 13.  Boys and girls in grades 5-7 are invited to share excellent books, a great discussion, and snacks!  Parents, guardians, or other adult family members are encouraged to participate.  The book to be discussed is The Battle of the Labyrinthby Rick Riordan. Saturday Tween Program

The Tween Program begins at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 8 and May 15.  Join us for a fun and creative program just for tweens in grades 5-7 or ages 10-12.  This month’s activity is making picture frames! FAMILY STORY TIME GOES BILINGUAL

Special Family Story Time which begins at 6:30 PM goes BILINGUAL on Tuesday, May 11! Saturday Cinema

Saturday Cinema begins at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 22. This week’s movie is Princess and the Frog[Rating: G. Run Time: 97 min.] starring voices of Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos, John Goodman andKeith David and directed by Ron Clements. From the creators of ‘The Little Mermaid‘ comes a modern twist on a classic tale, featuring a beautiful girl named Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again, and a fateful kiss that leads them both on a hilarious adventure through the mystical bayous of Louisiana . Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Saturday Cinema

Saturday Cinema begins at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 29. This week’s movie is Planet 51 [Rating: PG.  Run Time: 91 min.] directed by Jorge Blanco. An American astronaut believing himself to be the first person ever to set foot on Planet 51 gets the shock of his life in this animated adventure comedy featuring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, John Cleese, and Gary Oldman. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
