The Jones Center Spring Break Week 2010

The Jones Center Spring Break Week 2010 will be March 23rd-26th.  Free family friendly fun, for all ages.  

Back this year is AETN & PBS Kids Day, featuring characters from: The Dinosaur Train, Super Why, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Sid The Science Kid.
Voted Canada’s number one children’s act, “Splash ‘n Boots” will be here for two free performances on Wednesday, March 24th and Disney Cruise Line Ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger will be in the chapel auditorium for two shows on Thursday, March 25th

THEATRE TRAVELLERS (Grades K-1)

Let your imagination take flight in this class designed to bring out creativity through fun games and exercies.  A performance on the final day of class is included!  Choose one of the following sections:

 

Mondays 4-4.45pm $110 Min-5 Max-8 

Tuesdays, 4-4.45pm $110 Min-5 Max-8

 

THEATRE VOYAGERS (Grades 2-4)

You can be anything you imagine yourself to be in this class!  Let your imagination soar through a series of fun and exciting theatre games and improvisations with a performance on the last day of class!  Choose one of the following sections:

 

Mondays, 5-6pm $120 Min-5 Max-8

Wednesdays, 4.30-5.30pm $120 Min-5 Max-8

 

CURTAIN UP!  MUSICAL THEATRE (Grades 2-4)

Sing!  Dance!  Act!  Be a “triple threat” in this class!  Students will learn the fun and the challenges of musical theatre.  Belt the best of Broadway in a performance at the end of the semester!

 

Thursdays, 4-5pm $120 Min-5 Max-10

 

LAUGH FACTORY BEGINNING COMEDY IMPROV (Grades 5-7)

Dive right into learning the comedy improv techniques performed by the pros!  This group will also be giving special performances to show off their work at the end of the semester.

THEATRE PRODUCTION (Grades 8-12)

A new class specifically designed for the Young Actors Repertory!  This class will produce a script of social significance and those enrolled are automatically cast in the production.  Public performances will be given at the end of the semester.

TELEVISION PRODUCTION (Grades 8-12

A continuation of the Arts Live Theatre produced YouTube comedy series, “Fayetteville 72701″.  10 minute episodes are produced weekly for internet broadcast.

These activities are for students in grades 3-5. Registration is limited to 20 each week and is required for this program. Saturday Story Time

Saturday Cinema

Saturday Cinema begins at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 27. This week’s movie is The Neverending Story[Rating: PG.  Run Time: 94 min.] starring Noah Hathaway, Barret Oliver, Tami Stronach, and Patricia Hayes and directed by Wolfgang Petersen. A sensitive little boy, still grieving for his mother, finds respite in a book which chronicles the plight of Fantasia, a magical land created by the dreams and imagination of humankind, now threatened with destruction by The Nothing, a shapeless, ominous force created by human despair. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
