FREE Family Fun Zone Sponsoring the FLW National Fishing Tournament

The FLW National Fishing Tournament will be at Beaver Lake this weekend.

To support this event, a FREE Family Fun Zone is hosted at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers, AR on May 17th & 18th 12:00pm-4:00pm.

The Family Fun Zone offers fans a chance to meet their fantasy fishing team anglers face-to-face and review the latest products from Berkley, Lowrance, Ranger, Evinrude, Yamaha and other sponsors. The children will be treated to giveaways, fishing themed games and rides, such as, the Pringles Boat simulator.

Children 14 and under who visit the Family Fun Zone on Sunday, May 18th 
will receive a free rod and reel combo while supplies last. Also, one lucky 
member in the audience will win a new Ranger boat during the final 4:00p.m 
weigh-in. 

Admission is free, and you must be present to win.

Family Day at the NWACCC Clay Studio

Stories in a Quilt

of patterns, colors and images. Students will design a small patchwork quilt that represents themselves and their families.

Crazy For Art

Students will smear, draw with sticks, tear cloth, paint around things, get messy, learn and have fun painting, collaging, printing and drawing.

Painting Up A Storm

Students will paint landscapes or still-lifes

depending on the weather. They’ll learn to make observations over and around things and think about what they draw.

Self Portrait

Students create unique works of art that express who they are through the techniques of drawing, painting and collage. Kis will use a variety of fun art-making materials and techniques, exploring and incorporating their reflection through the art-making process.

Drawing What Matters

Instructor: Joy Caffrey

Learn basic drawing skills. Develop confidence and accuracy in drawing. Art making will include discussion and practice of simple observation exercises helping students draw more precisely. Students will create a self portrait montage from objects of their own such as shoes, MP3 players, jewelry, etc.

No need to pack a suitcase for your vacation this year! Join us at the Community Imagination Studio as we travel around the world this summer through art! From Australia to France , we’ll make art from a different country every Saturday from 10 - 4, June 14th - August 23rd. Participants will receive their very own passport to keep track of their travels, and we’ll end our journeys with an International Art Show here at the studio.

FAMILY DAY

Free Family Day at YouthCAN!’s Community Imagination Studio

YouthCAN!’s Community Imagination Studio hosts Family Day the first Saturday of each month. During our Family Day program, we open our studio to all families in Northwest Arkansas to come and participate in family themed art projects for free.

June’s Family Day will be held on Saturday, June 7th from 10-4pm. This Family Day we will create yard art! Come and make stepping stones and concrete sculpture to decorate the yard. Also, we will celebrate Father’s Day by making Father’s Day cards. Our Painting Studio will also be open.

Family Day events are free for all participants and no pre-registration is required. The Community Imagination Studio is located at 818 N. Sang Ave. , in Fayetteville . SATURDAY STUDIO HOURS

YouthCAN!’s Community Imagination Studio Saturday Studio Hours.

All of Northwest Arkansas is invited to Saturday Studio Hours every week from 10-4! Please join us at the Community Imagination Studio, 818 N. Sang Ave. in Fayetteville . During Saturday Studio Hours, we open our doors to community members of all ages to come, use our studio space and art supplies to paint, draw, make collages, or get creative with clay. Staff artists will be on hand to help guide you. Each week, we will have featured projects that participants may also choose to participate in. Cost is $5 for adults and children. $10 to work with clay. Free to parents of participating children. JUNE’S ARTIST WORKSHOP SERIES

The Community Imagination Studio invites all of Northwest Arkansas to participate in the Saturday Workshop Series. The Workshop Series will be held on the 3rd Saturday of every month and involves a demonstration of the facilitating artists’ methods, guided instruction, and a chance for participants to get feedback on their work.

June’s Saturday Workshop will be June 21st from 2-4. On this day you can come and learn how to knit. Relax this summer vacation and knit gift items for the Holiday Season! The Saturday Workshop Series will be $10 per participant. The Community Imagination Studio is located at 818 N. Sang Ave. , in Fayetteville . MOMMY & ME ART CLASSES!

For Parents or Grandparents and their little ones ages 18 months-5 years of age. Together, you will explore art in all its wonderful messiness! Art teaches developmental and cognitive skills such as problem solving, cause and effect, color mixing, and many more! The masterpieces that you take home will be treasured for years! Class meets once a week on alternating Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 10 to 11 am. Cost is $10 per class, per child. Register for whole month and receive a $5 discount if you have more than one child. Featured Projects for June 4th: Welcome this summer with all kinds of fun projects for outside! We will be learning how to tie dye and making bug hotels. We will also be painting with fun summer colors.

Featured Projects for June 10th: This week’s theme is Bon Voyage! Come visit the studio and travel to the other side of the world! We will create art projects from Australia and South Africa . We will paint rocks and bark and create drums and masks. We will also be celebrating Father’s day by creating Father’s Day cards.

Featured Projects for June 18th. This week’s theme is Go Diego Go! Go Diego Go! Will be playing at the Walton Arts Center next Saturday. At the Studio, we will create a rainforest collage and make a backpack for your own exploring adventures.

Featured Projects for June 24th: Come and find out what happens on a country’s birthday! We will celebrate the upcoming 4th of July holiday by creating a party pack that will have a visor and a never ending sparkler. We will also be painting.
