Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

The Springdale School District is pleased to host the Camp Invention Program, an exciting week-long summer day experience for children entering grades one through six at the Helen Tyson Middle School the week of June 16-20, 2008 from 9:00-3:30 with all new activities!

The program is designed to inspire creativity and inventive thinking through loads of hands-on activities and F-U-N! Children will participate in five inventive modules each day, including:

M.A.R.S. (Moving at Rocket Speed)™ module, where children become the first astronauts to explore the planet Mars

Art Park™ module, where children renovate a museum’s sculpture garden.

Saving Sludge City™ module, where children rebuild and clean a polluted city to make a more eco-friendly environment for it’s residents.

The Camp Invention Program integrates science, mathematics, history, and the arts in an exciting environment conducive to learning disguised as fun!

The Camp Invention Program will be hosted by Helen Tyson Middle School. Jenny Jones will direct the program, and local, certified teachers will lead five modules each day. Enthusiastic high school and college students will serve as counselors. The program features a low staff to child ratio, with one staff member for every eight children.

The registration fee includes snacks and a Camp Invention T-shirt. Contact the director at jjones3@sdale.org for a $25 voucher off the base registration price of $205; online registrants receive an additional $5 savings! The camp code is C-AR59-19628-08.
