2nd Annual NWA Emergency Preparedness Fair

Saturday, April 26th at 1101 McCollum Drive in Bentonville, AR.  Just off of 540, exit 88.

10:00am to 4:00pm

Come for the fun, and get prepared!  We’ll have Dora and Shrek, a real Medical Helicopter, free lunch, a family Bounce House, Lowe’s Kids Clinic, free Child Photo IDs, door prizes, Bentonville Fire Dept. International Cesarean Awareness Network

ICAN has arrived in NWA!

The International Cesarean Awareness Network is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal/child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery and promoting vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).

ICAN meets for educational meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm at The Jones Center in Springdale room #221

FAMILY DAY

Free Family Day at YouthCAN!’s Community Imagination Studio

YouthCAN!’s Community Imagination Studio hosts Family Day the first Saturday of each month. During our Family Day program, we open our studio to all families from Northwest Arkansas to come and participate in family themed art projects. April’s Family Day will be held on April 5th from 10-4pm. Join us as we make portraits out of collages and paints. We will also be creating paper kites! In addition, our Painting Studio will also be open. Family Day events are free for all participants and no pre-registration is required. The Community Imagination Studio is located at 818 N. MOMMY & ME ART CLASSES!

Mommy & Me Art Classes at the Community Imagination Studio

For Parents or Grandparents and their little ones ages 18 months-5 years of age. Together, you will explore art in all its wonderful messiness! Art teaches developmental and cognitive skills such as problem solving, cause and effect, color mixing, and many more! The masterpieces that you take home will be treasured for years! Class meets once a week on alternating Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 10 to 11 am. Cost is $10 per class, per child. Register for whole month and receive a $5 discount if you have more than one child.

Featured Projects for April 9th: “In the Round!” is the name of an exhibition at the DDP Gallery in Fayetteville. For this class, we will take inspiration from the works on display for our projects. APRIL’S ARTIST WORKSHOP SERIES

The Community Imagination Studio invites all of the Northwest Arkansas community to participate in the Saturday Workshop Series. The Workshop Series will be held on the 3rd Saturday of every month and involves a demonstration of the facilitating artists’ methods, guided instruction, and a chance for participants to get feedback on their work.

April’s Saturday Workshop will be April 19th from 2-4. This workshop will be with the University of Arkansas Ceramics students. You will be able to create your own ceramics. The Saturday Workshop Series will be $10 per participant.
